Meet the New Starter - Sharon Goode
What attracted you to the role at TIP?
I was looking for a role in which I could expand my skills. I was interested in learning more about the operational and customer services side of the transport industry, after working at DHL as a Transport Operator and planner.
What excites you most about your new role with TIP?
After working for a leading transport operator for 15 years, its nice to have a new challenge, with the ‘boot being on the other foot’ so to speak. I am certainly learning more and more each week and I think I am working with the best team too!
What skills do you hope to bring to TIP?
I hope to bring knowledge gained at my previous employer to my role at TIP. I have a good rapport with the customer sites that I am dealing with, and with our third-party service vendors too, to help ensure the smooth running of operations.
What is your biggest work-related achievement?
I passed my National CPC in 1998 and was also a first aider at work for 10 years, receiving ‘employee of the month’ three times.
What is your biggest personal achievement?
My partner and I buying our first house together in our 50’s.
At this stage of your career, where do you see yourself next year? 3 years from now? 5 years?
Hopefully, still at TIP, as I think there is so much more I can learn working here.
How do you like to start your day?
With a strong cup of tea and watching the news headlines.
What are your top three strengths?
Commitment, punctuality and honesty.
What is a fun/interesting fact about yourself?
My dad went to school with Shakin Stevens!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to watch football and Rugby League – I am a proud Man City and Warrington Wolves supporter. I also enjoy walking, gardening, cooking and spending time with my family.
