Michael Wood
What attracted you to TIP Group?
What attracted me to TIP Group was the prospect of working with a dedicated network team at one of the largest trailer leasing companies in the world! I was also looking forward to improving my networking skills and learning the appropriate actions to implement whilst keeping business needs in careful consideration.
Describe your experience at TIP in three words:
Challenging, enjoyable and creative.
What projects have you been working on whilst on your placement?
Whilst on my placement, I’ve carried out Mediterranean, Nordic and Central remedial works. I also volunteered to become the Intern President and I have had the pleasure of organising calls and being the middleman between the interns and the wider TIP working force. To date, I’ve organised several calls with TIP members from different regions and work backgrounds; various work related topics have been discussed, such as task prioritisation and cyber security. I also plan and arrange special online events for the interns where they can get to know one another and have fun!
What have you learnt / developed since the start of your internship?
At TIP, I lead and manage multiple important projects and constantly monitor the infrastructure throughout the business, so since starting at TIP, I developed my project management skills. I also have had access to various monitoring and surveillance software to better maintain and monitor network errors experienced throughout the business. This allowed me to further develop my networking skills and enhance my problem solving skills immensely.
