Ross Taylor

I started in August 2014 as a Workshop Technician with TIP Tankers (Knottingley). I had previously served 18 years at various workshops/dealerships, maintaining and repairing HGV’s/PSV’s and trailers. Although I had experience on trailers, I had never worked on tankers before, so I saw this as a chance to get to know how they worked.

After several years of working at TIP Tankers, I now have extensive knowledge of how tankers operate such as what is involved for pressure testing and barrel repairs (including coded welding) and pumping/metering equipment.

I recently applied for and was successful in my application to be a Workshop Supervisor. This role involved helping in the conversation and training of technicians from fabrication to service workshop.

Like all jobs, it has it’s ups and downs…….but mostly it has been enjoyable (that’s why I’m still here)!
