TIP Group strengthens its maintenance and engineering function with the promotion of Mark Carlin to Fleet and Engineering Director

TIP Group has appointed Mark Carlin to the role of Fleet and Engineering Director, strengthening its already exemplary levels of engineering and maintenance across both the truck and trailer sectors.

With a wealth of experience in the supply chain, transportation and fleet sectors, Mark joined TIP Group in 2022 from Ryder as Operations Director of TIP’s trucks business, Grayrentals.

Fast forward a few months and Mark now has overall responsibility for the maintenance, engineering and quality standard functions of TIP’s ‘asset under management’ fleet of more than 45,000 trailers and trucks. As part of the role, Mark oversees all OEM relationships from a technical and warranty perspective, while providing invaluable engineering expertise and support for TIP’s customers when specifying new trailer and truck assets.

As part of his role, Mark will oversee the TIP Mechanic Academy, a first of its kind in the transportation industry, which has been set up to provide comprehensive technician training to the next generation of mechanics.

“The decarbonisation and electrification of our industry will see huge changes occurring from a technical perspective, so it’s vital that we continue to upskill and grow our workforce of maintenance technicians to stay ahead of the curve. In this way we can continue to offer our customers the highest possible levels of service at a time of change within the transportation sector,” added Mark.
