Grayrentals ‘rebrands’ as TIP

Leading truck and trailer hire provider Grayrentals will tomorrow ‘re-brand’ and be referred to as TIP. As part of the TIP Group, the trailer and truck hire business will be represented under the same banner.

With their headquarters in Hull, Grayrentals had continued to operate under its own name for the last eight years. However, they have been steadily integrated into the TIP family, as the commercial vehicle specialist, since it was purchased in 2015.

Over that period, the business has experienced significant growth to become one of the UK’s leading names in the truck contract hire sector. As well as Hull and Scunthorpe, TIP’s ‘truck’ division now has branches located in Morley (Leeds) and Lichfield to complement TIP’s other 30 locations across the UK & Ireland.

Name change aside, the business will continue to offer the high levels of expertise and customer service that it has become renowned for to a wide range of customers in the commercial vehicle sector. The ‘powered’ business continues to be commercially led by Jonny Clark while one of the original owners, Terry Moody, remains an integral part of the TIP management team.

The new TIP powered division offers a diverse range of trucks for hire from 7.5 tonne upwards, including rigids and tractor units from all leading manufacturers. In addition, alternative fuelled and electric vehicles, together with a wide range of specialised vehicles such as cement mixers, are also offered.

In response to loyal customer demand TIP’s powered fleet has grown from almost 250 back in 2015 to more than 3,000 this year.

Grayrentals as a legal entity will cease from today, with its business operating under the legal entity of TIP Trailer Services UK Ltd from 1st September.
