Corporate Social Responsibility
At TIP Group, we believe in making a positive impact not only within our business but also in the wider society. Our CSR program is rooted in our commitment to ensuring a safe, inclusive working environment for our employees and extending support to the most vulnerable in our communities.
Health and safety are paramount to us, reflected in our detailed Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) policy. We prioritize EHS training for all employees, conduct regular inspections and audits, and implement thorough accident investigation procedures. This dedication to safety extends to our suppliers, customers, and other partners, fostering a culture of responsibility and care. Moreover, we are continually working to standardize safety processes, documentation, and training to uphold the highest standards across our operations.
In 2023, we launched Ambition Zer0, a proactive approach to elevate our EHS standards and strive towards our goal of zero accidents. This initiative focuses on accident prevention through accessible training, regular inspections, and harmonized processes enabled by information technology.

TIP Group prioritizes road safety for children by educating them about blind spots in trucks and trailers. Through interactive sessions held at schools in Germany and the Netherlands, children experience firsthand the dangers posed by blind spots by sitting in the driver's cab of a truck. This initiative aims to raise awareness among children, who may be unaware of these risks, and has already benefitted around 400 participants.
TIP Group is establishing Secure Truck Parking hubs at truck stops to improve comfort and safety for drivers. Our first hub in Dourges, France sets the standard with 212 parking spots, 24/7 security and camera surveillance, rest areas, clean facilities, dining options, showers, laundry services, and a TIP workshop. We plan to bring similar hubs to more locations across Europe, providing spaces designed specifically for our customers’ needs. As we expand, we are also preparing for the energy transition by installing electric charging stations and solar panels. These green energy solutions will power our hubs sustainably into the future, aligning with our climate commitments. By creating this network of parking hubs with amenities and sustainability in mind, TIP Group aims to improve the road freight transport experience across Europe.
At TIP Group, we highly value feedback from our employees. That's why we conduct an annual engagement survey across our operating countries. The survey provides insight into what we're doing well as an employer and areas where we can improve.
In our 2022, along with our annual survey, we also partnered along with Great Place to Work UK to evaluate the work culture in our UK operations. TIP Group was officially named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing (2023) by Great Place to Work®. For our annual survey, we saw an overall employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) of +12, on par with 2021 results. This tells us we continue to cultivate strengths like supportive management, strong teamwork, and a commitment to health and safety.
The annual survey also illuminated opportunities to enhance the employee experience at TIP Group. Employees identified priorities like improving communication, providing more growth and development opportunities, and ensuring proper tools and methods for work.
We appreciate this constructive feedback from our team members. Listening to their perspectives allows us to take action to make TIP Group a better place to work. We are now focused on addressing these key areas to further promote engagement, wellbeing, and satisfaction across our workplace. By continuously improving, we aim to make TIP Group an excellent environment for our employees to thrive.
To help address the industry-wide shortage of qualified mechanics, TIP Group launched the TIP Mechanic Academy in 2023. This intensive 9-month program trains aspiring mechanics through a blended model of instructor-led, online, and hands-on learning. With small class sizes and robust benefits like healthcare and holiday pay, trainees graduate with the skills and certification needed for full-time mechanic roles at TIP. As TIP Group employees, they earn competitive salaries and access to further development opportunities. By investing in the next generation of trailer maintenance experts, the TIP Mechanic Academy allows us to build a strong talent pipeline. This helps ensure we can continue providing reliable service to our customers in the face of industry technician shortages.
TIP Stronger Together is a program that drives Learning, Teamwork, Health & Wellbeing, and giving back to the Community. Through various initiatives, this program aims to foster a strong sense of team spirit as well as a sense of mutual evolution among TIP employees. Through this program, we invest in our local communities. In 2022, we donated €92,531 to charities and engaged in employee volunteering initiatives such as canal clean-ups in Amsterdam and charity bike rides in the UK. We're also dedicated to global humanitarian efforts, supporting refugees from Ukraine and victims of natural disasters in Turkey and Syria. Through initiatives like the Tent program, we're connecting refugees with employment opportunities, including enrollment in the TIP Group Mechanic Academy, with plans for expansion to other countries.
As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity, TIP Group is actively working to address and reduce the gender pay gap within our organization. We recognize the importance of gender diversity in driving talent, competitiveness, and attracting more women into our workforce, especially within a historically male-dominated industry.
Currently, only 18% of our employees are women, with figures at the Executive Management Team level standing at just 16%. At the board level, this figure goes up to 25%. To tackle this disparity, we are implementing strategies to hire more women in management positions, thereby fostering a more balanced and equitable workplace environment.
At TIP Group, we are committed to addressing the gender pay gap head-on. In 2022, the gender pay gap stood at 8%, compared to 9.9% in 2021. Our goal is to keep the gender pay gap less than 11% at TIP Group.
